From Professional Football Clubs to the Football Corporation

Abstract

This article aims to study Football Clubs and the Football Corporation (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol – SAF). The objective is to provide a brief overview of what professional sports entities and football corporations are; to understand the general aspects of professional sports entities and football corporations; to analyze the legislation and doctrines regarding these topics; and to identify the doctrinal understanding of football corporations. To achieve this, the research was divided into two stages: the first stage analyzes professional sports entities, their legal nature, and how they are legally constituted; the second stage examines football corporations, their legal nature, and legal constitution. Based on the study, several conclusions are drawn, demonstrating that the current state of football globally leaves no room for amateurism. The associative model established in Brazil is ineffective in several areas. The SAF presents itself as a viable alternative, allowing football to become more competitive and, most importantly, organized, eliminating the management and questionable practices commonly associated with traditional football club organizations. Regarding methodology, the research utilizes an inductive logical framework, along with the techniques of Reference, Category, Operational Concept, and Bibliographic Research.
